Where To Eat In Miami

Around The World/ Travel

When I go to Miami, it’s typically to the very touristy area of South Beach.  However, because I was there on business, which is somewhat of an oxymoron, Miami and business sounds like opposites right?  Before I left, I was able to experience a smidget of Miami life by discovering a hidden gem calledRead More

Atlanta Life: Candlefish

Atlanta/ Travel

I love discovering awesome places to go and things to do in the very same city that I live in.  As much as I like to travel,
having so many cool options without having to get on a plane makes you feel like all of your city taxes that come out of your check might be worth something.  A few months ago, one of my good friends put me on to an amazing spot where you can make your own scented candles, CandleFish.Read More

Atlanta Life: American Girl Bistro

Atlanta/ Travel

American Girl stores are all across America, but only a few lucky states have the featured bistro. The bistros are restaurants located inside of the retailer that have an American Girl theme that provides the ultimate American Girl experience. If your daughter has even the slightest obsession with the American Girl brand, it’s in your best interest to find the nearest bistro to make her dreams come true.

As a parent, my favorite part of the experience is that if your child doesn’t have an expensive American Girl doll or has left hers at home, like my forgetful child, they will provide one of your child’s choice to use.

What I did find surprising, was that the food was actually pretty good!  They had great food options for the children as well as the parents.

My daughter’s favorite part of the experience was the “Decorate a Cupcake” option on the dessert menu.

Here’s a few tips before you go:

  1. Make a reservation.  The bistro has different operating hours than the retailer, so you want to be sure it’s not a wasted trip.
  2. Check your budget.  Some might consider the menu items to be a pit pricey, so you want to be sure you’re prepared financially.  I would say that the food cost was very similar to a TGIF restaurant or a Ruby Tuesday.
  3. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, don’t be afraid to tell your waiter/waitress, they might have something special up their sleeves for different occasions.

We’re back with another edition of the Atlanta Life segment!  This past weekend I attended my first Atlanta Hair Show!  Don’t judge me, I’ve been here a little less than two years folks!  My first hair show was the 20th Annual Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show and it was beyond amazing!

The Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show is a staple in the black hair community. Whether you’re natural, inspiring to wear a natural style, or simply infatuated with all of the amazing things that black hair can do, this is the event for you!

Atlanta Life: Tiny Towne

Atlanta/ Travel

My daughter had been under the weather with a bug going around at school, yikes!  She had finally regained some energy, but I wanted her to take it slow and the playground just seemed too overwhelming.  I scrolled through Groupon and saw “Tiny Towne” in Norcross, only about 15 minutes from our house with an excellent deal and a new place for us to try.Read More
