I cook almost everyday, but you wouldn’t know it because I don’t post them often to my blog. My reasoning for not posting more recipes is because I rarely measure anything and that makes it tough to explain to someone else HOW to make something. However, I made it a point to measure everything so that I can share my chili recipe with you all because it IS THAT good, damn good.
A perfect cheesecake option for kids!!!
I created these treats because my daughter loves cheesecake! However, we all know kids waste so much food! You want to make something quick, yummy, and Valentin’s Day oriented without all the work? This is the perfect treat! Trust me, these look fancy but they only take 15 minutes to make, 10 of which they’re in the oven and that requires no work at all.
HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1 Container of Pilsbury Cinnamon Rolls (gave me 9 shapes)
Red food coloring
Cookie Sheet/ Aluminum pan for baking
Optional: sprinkles, Vanilla Bean ice cream
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Create shapes with the cinnamon roll dough. Don’t get frustrated, these do not come apart easily. Use your play-doh skills to roll and form shapes.
3. While the shapes are in the oven, microwave icing cup (comes inside of cinnamon roll container ) for 10 seconds, this will make it easier to stir the food coloring in. Add 2-3 drops of food coloring to icing.
4. Bake cinnamon roll shapes for 10 minutes, then add red drizzle and sprinkles. Add vanilla bean ice cream on the side to dip shapes into.

I blame my daughter’s school for this Pinterest disaster. They have the weirdest “politically correct policies”. They don’t allow the kids to wear costumes on Halloween, you can’t bring anything that says ‘Merry Christmas’, it has to say ‘ Happy Holidays’, and they don’t celebrate birthdays. But yet, they’re closed for Christopher Columbus day, the man that stole America. I try to be understanding about their rules, but c’mon birthdays? I talked to her teacher about this and she totally agreed. She said that she allows the kids to bring in treats, as long as they’re in the kid’s backpacks and no one else can see them bringing them in. So I got to thinking, hmm what 20 things can I make/ buy to put in her backpack as a birthday treat that won’t kill some kid with a peanut allergy? Eureka! Cake pops! The more I looked up the recipe for these, the more I decided I was going to take the easy route and buy them. Then I saw them, ‘Sprinkled Oreo Pops’. They looked amazing, every recipe started with “quick and easy”, and some even said “cake pop alternative”. I looked up a few recipes and none of them had more than 5 steps. Sounds perfect right?
